Radioactive Background

Description

I needed a new bg for my computer, since my current one is that ugly picture of MiniW with a dumb expression.

I originally wasn't going to post it, but I loved how it came out and couldn't resist *U*

Background was taken off of google, I cannot find the owner but let it be known that it does not belong to me.

First off, I gotta say the color use is nicely done. It gives off this kind of slight eerie atmosphere and the character is nicely blended into the background. The texture also adds to the mood this picture is trying to pull off. It also is very simplistic but in a way that it looks very clean and polished. Using hard and soft cell shading on the subject was also an interesting approach though there is a couple things about it I will address in the next paragraph,

Something I had to pick out though was the lighting on Dr. W's face looking too light for what the glow is giving off. I believe it should have a more greenish tint. The other thing I noticed was trying a combination of hard and soft cell shading. While it looks good for the most part, the soft glow on the goggles makes the lighting feel flat. As a suggestion, I would just keep the hard cell shading for the reflection and maybe if it is possible use soft cell style for the part of the lens furthest away from the light. I also suggest that if the goggles are metallic to add some highlights on the edge closer to the light source behind the black part of the lens so that it appears more shiny. Otherwise though I think it was done pretty well.
